New projects for the year
-The first one (fran), is quite nice considering it is made of sub-par construction grade pine, rather than a nice hardwood.
-the second one will be made of maple or spruce most likely. for the moment it's name will be Phratria.
a car-computer in my '97 chevy lumina
-Mobile PC
-GPS
-Touchscreen in dash

The Farmer
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the middle of an undisclosed farm somewhere in the midwest was a farmer, he loved life and he loved nature, hence he was a farmer. There was a terrible storm, Hail, Lightning, Rain, the whole Nine yards. . .you know how it goes. During the course of the storm the Farmer kept on hearing a loud thudding sound intermittently, it turned out that birds were trying to fly into his house for safety via the large single pain windows on his porch. The farmer, immedietly feeling compassion for the birds, went out opened his barn and turned the lights on inside. but for some reason the birds did not enter the barn, however safe it might have been. This perplexed the farmer, so he tried shooing and chasing them into the barn. . ."If they only knew it was for their own good" he thought as he went after another straggler, "If only i could become one of them and speak with them, maybe then they could understand the gift i am trying to give them."

"what Devin thinks"
Jesus came to us on our terms to tell of his grace, his salvation, and plans for us. We in our humble human state could have never began to understand his will without some kind of direct intervention, the Prophets knew, adam and eve knew, the first apostles knew. . .why? because they walked with God in one manner or another, in this day and age it is still possible to walk and talk with God. Personally i find him in the little things, in prayer, and in his word. . .

| my thoughts on the middle east. Tell Me if you dig.
Isaac and Ishmael so i was thinking. . .(oh no! yeah scary)
And God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed; and you shall call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. ------------------------------------------------- But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto you at this set time in the next year. - Gen. 17:19, 21 ------------------------------------------------- ok so abraham was promised a child when he and his wife were way to old to have some kiddos of their own, and his seed was promised to "be as many as the stars in the sky, or grains of sand", but abraham didn't have faith and he took his bond-servant hagar as a second wife and a child was born other than the one of promise. ------------------------------------------------- 11 The angel of the LORD also said to hagar:
"You are now with child
and you will have a son.
You shall name him Ishmael, [a]
for the LORD has heard of your misery.
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyone's hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward [b] all his brothers."
13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen [c] the One who sees me." 14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi [d] ; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
15 So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne. 16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael. - Gen. 16:11-15
-------------------------------------------------
but the child of promise was yet to come. . .
------------------------------------------------- 6 Sarah said, "God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me." 7 And she added, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age." -gen. 21:6 -------------------------------------------------
so you have two children, two covenents, both opposites, kinda like yen and yang.
now historically folks ishmael was the father of pretty much all of the arab nations, and he is spoken of quite a bit in the Quran (islamic bible), and isaac the father of pretty much everyone else.
now out of the covenent made from abrahams unbelief you get an angry child who doesn't play well with others, and the other you get a kiddo who grows to be another man after god's own heart.
now isaac and ishmael never got along, actually ishmael and hagar got kicked out into the modern day deserts of saudi arabia (also in the quran and bible)
now the point i'm getting to is that technically islam and christianity aren't that different ideal wise, so it doesn't make any sense why many arabs are anti-westerncivilization (which was built off of christianity)(and don't say i'm making conclusions about things i don't know, i lived in an arab country for five years, i had many arab friends, i say some not all arabs have problems with christians and western civ,)
so the seed of ishmael were allowed to multiply because God spared hagar, but even after all these years Isaac's seed and Ishmael's Seed don't get along.
it goes to show that even the best of men get do something with good intentions, but not have good conclusions, a person must have good faith in what they are doing 0r are told, curses and promises are carried down into your lineage so watch how you live. As Far as the middle east goes, I say it is as much a spiritual war as it is a physical war between men. |
SuperBowl Cards V Steelers
It's neat to see warner back in the spotlight, i remember when he was still in saint louis. most of the people in Saint Louis seem to be rallying for the cardinals to win because of warner alone. it's kind of funny actually.
My vote is for the Cardinals, but alas, Football is not a democracy.
Greetings citizens of the InterWeb.
Right now as I begin to part from consciousness to sleep it should be noted that the things I love most are as follows : God, Family, My Girlfriend, Friends, Music, Being Young.
God and religion has always been a major crutch for me throughout my life, there were many times when it was hard to believe the claims of the bible, but I feel that i have been blessed in great abundance with the rest of my list because i persevered and didn't let my doubts rule me in such matters as divinity.
My immediate family is small and very close thanks to several very emotional experiences including living in a foreign country where the general populace holds a negative and hateful feeling towards you, several close family deaths, and being rejected by other family members.
My girlfriend is a true God send. She is a comforting hand when i get too stressed with my busy life as a student musician and performer, and a kindred spirit in matters of God.
My friends i have learned to appreciate more and more as they help to hold me up (as i do them) when times are hard, and the friends i grew up with are making themselves scarce as i get older. I love the ones i can be with, and long for the ones i can't, and i appreciate them all.
Music is the solace of my busy mind. It calms my nerves when I am unsteady and overstimulated, it is how i express my creativity. Whether i am playing the piano, guitar, or drums i can usually find a sense of euphoria in the experience. This release is often an emotional moment, but can very easily become a spiritual experience.
I am only young once, i am not invincible, but i am only young once.
I'll live my life to the fullest while i can, then enjoy the rest as actively as i can until i move on from this life.
i like to think that i have a bright future ahead of me, and i look forward to experiencing it to the fullest.
